DownloadDave Laurence is an Oklahoma-based singer/songwriter who writes and performs “Fun Acoustic Music" - a combination of rock, pop, jazz, country, folk, and the dry humor borne of his New England roots. His unique style, energetic stage presence, and convincing delivery resonate across generations and among lovers of all music genres.
Dave began performing at age 16 with local bands in Maine, honing his skills as a bass guitarist and arranger. He became a solo acoustic artist in 1987, playing throughout New England before migrating to Oklahoma City in 1995.
Dave was active with the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival in its infancy. He was one of the inaugural performers on Opening Day in 1998, and hosted the festival's Open Mic shows in 2000 and 2001.
Following a hiatus of several years, he returned to the stage in 2012 determined to make up for lost time. He has since released four studio albums and performed from Mexico to Maine. Notable venues where he has appeared include the Church Studio (Tulsa, OK), the Colony (Woodstock, NY), the Commodore Grille (Nashville, TN), and the Magnolia Motor Lounge (Fort Worth, TX).
Dave left his government job in 2022 to pursue music full time. After surviving a near-fatal accident in 2025, he has decided to spend the rest of his career focused on helping to preserve the art of storytelling through song.
